Linnea Swan

Toronto-based performing artist Linnea Swan has had the privilege of working with many of Canada’s esteemed dance/theatre companies and artists including Dancemakers, Human Cargo, Ruth Cansfield Dance, TRIP dance company, Volcano Theatre, WCD, Serge Bennathan, Rachel Browne, Susie Burpee, Allison Cummings, Lesandra Dodson, Susanna Hood, D.A. Hoskins, Claudia Moore, and Tedd Robinson. Most recently in Toronto, she was featured in Four Mad Humours – a bi-national, multi-disciplinary project conceived and directed by Gerry Trentham, for which she received a 2012 Dora Nomination for Outstanding Performance in Dance.

Linnea is a member of The Exchange Rate Collective with actors Claire Calnan and Adam Lazarus, whose interdisciplinary collaborative creation Appetite received two Dora Awards. As rehearsal director/outside eye, she has worked for Rachel Browne, Susie Burpee, The Dietrich Group, and TRIP dance company. She is featured in the Bravo!FACT videos Slip, Sahara Sahara, and La Revue. An aspiring filmmaker herself, Linnea has worked alongside a number of choreographers to create promotional videos and films that accompany live performance. She is currently working on a docu/mocku-mentary of the making of Road Trip.

Originally from Saskatoon, Linnea is a graduate of Main Dance Place (Vancouver), and the School of Contemporary Dancers (Winnipeg). She has continued her studies in New York, New Mexico, and was a danceWEB scholarship recipient at ImPulsTanz in Vienna.
